Cutting a New Remote Key and Programming the Transponder
After verifying vehicle ownership, our technician obtained the correct key-cutting information for the Accord. We used a computerized key-cutting machine to prepare a new remote key blade matching the vehicle’s lock specifications, without needing the missing original.
We then connected our AUTEL automotive programmer to the vehicle’s diagnostic port and registered the replacement transponder with the immobilizer system. This electronic programming was necessary for the vehicle to recognize the new key and authorize engine starting.
Once programming was complete, we tested the key in the ignition and confirmed that the engine started. We also checked the door locks, trunk release, and remote buttons before handing the replacement over to the customer.
The entire job was completed on-site, allowing the owner to drive away without having the Accord towed to a dealership.
