We installed a keyed entry doorknob on a bedroom door at a home in Oradell, NJ. The homeowner wanted to lock her bedroom while she was at work because her children had been entering the room and leaving toys and clothes behind. The existing doorknob did not provide the outside key access she needed.

Replacing the Existing Knob with a Keyed Entry Lock
Our technician removed the existing bedroom doorknob and fitted a new keyed entry lockset in a brushed nickel finish. The replacement provided an exterior key cylinder, allowing the homeowner to unlock the bedroom from outside using her key.
We aligned the latch with the existing strike plate so the door would latch smoothly. After securing the hardware, we tested key rotation and locking operation to confirm the new doorknob worked correctly.
The completed installation gave the homeowner the access control she had requested. She could now lock the bedroom before leaving for work and use her key to enter when she returned.
