New Front Door Locks Operated by One Key
Our technician removed the existing deadbolt and keyed entry hardware and installed new Kwikset locks with SmartKey Security technology. The installation gave the homeowner a new key combination, so the previous house keys would no longer operate these front door locks.
We inspected the existing door openings, secured the replacement hardware, and adjusted the strike plate alignment. We checked that the deadbolt extended and retracted smoothly without binding.
Both locks were keyed alike, allowing the homeowner to operate the deadbolt and keyed entry lock with one key. This kept everyday access simple while replacing the uncertain collection of old keys with a fresh set.
After installation, we tested each lock several times with the door open and closed, checked the latch engagement, and handed over the new keys. The homeowner could settle in knowing that the old keys no longer provided access through his front door.
