Cutting and Programming a New RAM Remote Key

We supplied a new FOBIK-style remote key and cut its emergency mechanical blade to fit the truck’s door lock. We then checked the blade in the lock to confirm that it turned smoothly.

Next, we connected our automotive programming equipment and paired the replacement key with the truck’s immobilizer system, allowing the vehicle to recognize it and authorize the engine to start.

The photo shows the black remote key in front of the RAM-branded steering wheel. Its buttons include lock, unlock, panic and a remote-start symbol. The exact truck model and year cannot be established from this image alone; compatibility was determined from the vehicle information during the job.

After programming, we checked the remote functions supported by the vehicle and tested the replacement key several times. These checks covered door operation, communication with the truck and reliable engine starting.
