Removing the Padlock While Preserving the Truck Hardware
Our technician inspected the padlock and the truck’s rear latch before beginning the removal. The goal was to release the lock while protecting the U-Haul’s existing door hardware.
Because the padlock could not be opened normally, we used professional cutting equipment to remove it. The padlock itself was sacrificed during the process, while the truck’s latch and locking hardware remained intact.
After removing the padlock, we released the rear locking mechanism and restored access to the cargo area. The customer could continue unloading without replacing the truck’s original door hardware.
This job required padlock removal rather than repair or replacement of the vehicle’s built-in locks. Keeping the work focused on the separate padlock allowed us to resolve the access problem without unnecessary changes to the rental truck.
