Restoring Access and Checking Door Operation
Our technician used professional automotive opening equipment, including inflatable air wedges and a long-reach tool, to unlock the vehicle. We worked carefully around the door frame and weather stripping to protect the surrounding surfaces during the service.
Once the door was open, the customer could retrieve the keys. No new key or replacement lock was needed.
Before completing the job, we checked that the doors closed and locked properly. With access restored and door operation checked, the customer could continue their day.
Keeping a spare key in an accessible location outside the vehicle can help prevent a similar situation. If a lockout does happen, avoid forcing the door or attempting to pry it open with improvised tools.
