Matching Polished Brass Locks with One-Key Access
We removed the existing hardware and installed a Schlage deadbolt and keyed entry knob in a matching polished brass finish. Replacing both locks addressed the couple’s concern about the previous keys while giving the entrance a coordinated appearance.
We made sure the two new cylinders were keyed alike. This allows the residents to operate the upper deadbolt and lower entry knob with the same key, making everyday access more convenient without carrying a separate key for each lock.
During installation, we carefully aligned the deadbolt and knob latch with their strike plates. Both locking mechanisms needed to engage smoothly without requiring the residents to push, pull, or force the door into position.
After securing the hardware, we tested the new key in both cylinders and checked the knob, latch, and deadbolt operation. We then handed over the new keys, completing the couple’s requested upgrade.
The result was a matching Schlage lock set with straightforward one-key operation and new keys for their apartment entrance.
