Replacing the Lock Cylinder and Covering the Damaged Area
Our technician removed the damaged locking hardware and installed a new commercial keyed cylinder. We fitted a rectangular metal cover plate over the affected installation area, providing a clean mounting surface around the cylinder and pull handle.
The plate covered the damaged section without requiring replacement of the entire door. Together with the curved metal pull handle, it gave the entrance a more uniform, practical finish for daily use at the factory.
We carefully positioned the hardware, secured the mounting screws, and checked the lock alignment. After installation, we tested the new keys and locking mechanism to confirm proper operation.
A cover plate can be useful when damage is concentrated around an existing hardware opening and the remaining door is suitable for continued use. The appropriate repair depends on the condition of the door and the available mounting area.
