A New Key for the Existing Lock

We rekeyed the existing lock rather than replacing the door’s exterior hardware. The door shown has a silver-colored deadbolt above a matching entrance handle.

Rekeying is different from making another copy of a missing key. A duplicate keeps the same key combination, while rekeying changes which key operates the lock. For this customer, it meant having a new working key and removing the lost key’s access to the rekeyed lock.
