Existing Door and Lock Setup
The entrance was originally equipped with an Adams Rite MS1952-215-628 Deadlock with Straight Bolt.
This is a common lock setup for narrow stile aluminum business doors.
It provides key-operated security, but it does not give the business the same level of access control, flexibility, or user management that an electronic system can provide.
For this project, Our goal was to keep the existing storefront door in place and convert it into a controlled electronic entry point.
On-Site Locking System Conversion
Before starting the installation, American Star Locksmith checked the existing door stile, lock prep, frame condition, strike area, and door alignment.
The original mechanical deadlock was removed and replaced with an Adams Rite 4300-30-2RP 4300 Steel Hawk Electrified Deadlatch RITE Pack Kit, 1-1/8″.
The new electrified deadlatch was installed into the existing aluminum door stile and aligned with the frame for proper latch engagement.
This part of the job required careful adjustment to make sure the door would close smoothly, latch securely, and release properly when activated by the access control system.

Keyscan and HID Reader Integration
After the lock hardware was installed, the door was connected to the building’s access control setup.
The system is controlled by a Keyscan CA150 panel and uses an HID Signo 20 Mullion Reader, model 20NKS-00-000000, mounted near the entrance.
The reader was installed in a clean, low-profile position that fits the narrow frame area of the storefront door.
It supports both 13.56MHz and 125kHz credentials and can work with OSDP / Wiegand communication, making it a strong fit for a professional business access control setup.
Card, Key Fob, and Mobile Access
The upgraded entrance now supports standard access cards, key fobs, and HID mobile credentials.
With HID Origo Mobile Identities, approved users can open the door using a mobile app on their phone.
