We upgraded the entrance lock at a residential building in Cresskill, New Jersey, replacing the existing lock with a smart lock that allows residents to enter without a physical key.
With dozens of people coming and going, managing keys can become a recurring task for the building owner. Replacing a cylinder means arranging and distributing new keys, while a departing tenant can leave uncertainty about unreturned copies.
The owner contacted our mobile Locksmith team for a more convenient way to manage access. We installed a smart lock with myQ app control on the building’s white double entrance doors. Its black exterior unit sits above the existing handle, matching the dark door hardware.
Keyless Entry and Access Management Through the myQ App
The installed lock offers several ways to unlock the entrance: an entry code, fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, the myQ app, or a traditional backup key.
For residents, these options make everyday entry more convenient. For the owner or building manager, the app provides a way to manage entry codes directly from a phone and unlock the door remotely.
When a tenant leaves, their entry code can be changed or removed without replacing the cylinder or distributing another set of keys. This makes access updates easier to handle as residents move in and out.
The lock also includes a built-in camera, with optional alerts when someone approaches the entrance. The owner can configure these notifications according to their preferences.
This installation brought together keyless entry, phone-based access management, and entrance monitoring in one device. It is part of our Door Lock Services for customers looking to repair or upgrade their entrance locks.
