Our locksmith inspected the existing mortise cylinder, lock body, and surrounding door hardware. After we evaluated the problem and discussed the options, the customer chose to replace the unreliable cylinder.
We removed the old cylinder and checked the cylinder opening, existing lock body, and hardware alignment before fitting the replacement.
The new silver-finish mortise cylinder was positioned and secured in the commercial lock body. The work focused on replacing the keyed component while retaining the existing lock body and entrance hardware.

Testing the New Cylinder and Keys
After installation, we tested the new keys from outside to confirm that the cylinder turned smoothly. We also checked that the lock engaged and released correctly without sticking or excessive resistance.
