Testing the Key, Thumb-Turn and Bolt
After installation, we tested the key from outside and the thumb-turn from inside. We checked that the deadbolt extended and retracted correctly and engaged with the frame without sticking or requiring excessive force.
A lock upgrade needs to work with the entrance as a whole. Cylinder fit, secure mounting, and bolt alignment all matter to the finished installation.
The homeowner now has the requested high-security deadbolt upgrade, with its operation checked before the work was completed.
