Keypad Code Change and Lock Cylinder Replacement After Moving In

Updating Code and Key Access

The door has a push-button keypad deadbolt with a key cylinder, positioned above a separate lever handle. This setup provides two ways to operate the deadbolt: entering a code or using a key.

We changed the existing code to a different code and replaced the cylinder as requested. Addressing both forms of access was the purpose of this job: the customer wanted their own code and a replacement cylinder when taking possession of the home.

I got locked out of my house around 11 PM and searched for a local locksmith in River Edge. I called American Star Locksmith, and they were at my door within 20 minutes. The technician was very polite and explained exactly what he was going to do before starting. Within a minute, I was back inside. The price was very reasonable, especially for that hour of the night. I was extremely happy with the service and would definitely call them again. Highly recommend!

We recently moved into a new home in Teaneck and called American Star Locksmith to rekey all the locks and replace our main entry door. The locksmith explained everything clearly before getting started, worked neatly, and made sure all the locks used the same key, which makes things much easier for us. Everything was clean when he finished, and we’re very happy with the service. Thank you, American Star Locksmith!

We had stopped using our backyard because the lock on our Andersen sliding door was stuck. American Star Locksmith came to our home in Old Tappan, carefully opened the door, and replaced the lock and latch. The door works properly now, and we can use the backyard entrance again instead of walking around the house. We’re very grateful for the help and would recommend their service.

I lost my car key at Garden State Plaza in Paramus, so I went home to River Edge to look for my spare. When I couldn’t find it, I called American Star Locksmith. The technician was already near my home, and kindly drove me back to the mall. He made me a new key in about 20–25 minutes and charged a very fair price. Everyone was courteous and helpful. I highly recommend American Star Locksmith!

I recently moved into my home in Tenafly and called American Star Locksmith to replace the locks. They arrived within about 25 minutes and changed the locks on all three doors. They also keyed them alike, so I can use the same key for every door, which is very convenient. I’m very happy with the service, the quick response, and especially the fair price. I would definitely recommend them!
