During our inspection, we found that the existing lock was poorly fitted and unsuitable for this storage entrance door. The latch was under unnecessary pressure, which had contributed to wear inside the mechanism. We recommended replacing the hardware with a properly fitted keyed-entry cylindrical knob lock.

We removed the old knob and latch, then cleaned and inspected the existing door preparation. We installed a new satin nickel keyed knob lock and adjusted the latch and strike plate to align correctly when the door closed.

After installation, we tested the door repeatedly from both sides. We checked that the knob turned smoothly, the latch engaged properly, and the key locked and unlocked the door without resistance.

The replacement resolved the locking and closing problems, leaving the customer with a smooth-operating lock better suited to the storage entrance.
