Adding and Testing a Second Lexus Smart Key
Our technician prepared a compatible Lexus smart key and used professional XTOOL programming equipment to register it with the vehicle’s smart key system.
Because the customer still had a functioning key, we used an add-key procedure. This job did not require the recovery process used when all working keys are lost.
The programming equipment displayed “Programming Success,” confirming that the new key had been accepted. We then checked key recognition, remote locking and unlocking, and push-button starting to verify that the replacement operated correctly.
The customer finished the appointment with two functioning smart keys. Having a spare gives him another way to access and start his Lexus if one key is misplaced.
