Individual Door Keys with Building-Wide Management Access
The project covered several types of existing commercial hardware, including Schlage heavy-duty keyed levers, long-plate lever assemblies, and doors fitted with panic bar exit devices.
Our technicians disassembled the lock assemblies, removed the cylinders, and changed their internal pin configurations to establish the new keying arrangement. Each door received an individual operating key, while a management master key was configured to operate all 29 locks.
This arrangement gave management access throughout the building while keeping individual door keys limited to their assigned locks. The work updated the existing hardware rather than requiring every lock assembly to be replaced.
During the service, we inspected internal springs, lever mechanisms, and locking components before reassembling the hardware. We then tested each lock with its individual key and the master key, checked smooth locking operation, and verified the operation of the existing exit hardware.
The completed system gave the facility a consistent way to manage access across its offices. Management could use one master key throughout the building while issuing individual keys according to each person’s access needs.
